Vaccination Passes in France and Italy

As vaccines become more widely available, and in an effort to reduce further COVID-19 spread, both Italy and France introduced vaccination passes this past August.

Italy introduced the Certificazione Verde (aka 'Green Pass') and requires it for all indoor events, such as museums and restaurants. Starting in October 2021, the Green Pass is also necessary to enter any health facility, including an ER. Find out more details on the Green Pass and how to obtain a pass if vaccinated outside the country on this website (website is in Italian).

France's pass (Passe Sanitaire) is likewise required to enter bars and restaurants and to visit hospitals and other public spaces. This website offers additional information (website is in French). Americans who need a Passe Sanitaire can find out more from the U.S. embassy website. As a reminder, updated information on COVID-19 can be found on the GeoBlue® website here.

According to data from the College Crisis Initiative at Davidson College, nearly 90 percent of colleges and universities are welcoming students back to campus. Likewise, 98 percent will start on time, per data from a sample size of 502 institutions.
